Oh! Oregano!

"Oh! Oregano!" That is exactly what I said when I got sick and had a little upper respiratory issue. I got my mug of steaming water, added a drop of lemon, a drop of tea tree and a drop of oregano essential oils. Immediately I smelled the clean, herbaceous blend rise up into my airways, and I inhaled deeply.  A comforting and secure feeling washed over me, and I knew I was supporting my body to do it's job of healing whatever was ailing inside.

Why was oregano oil the choice oil, you ask? This steamed distilled essential oil is a powerhouse when it comes to its activity in being antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, antimicrobial, and more. Traditionally, the herb and aromatic waters were used to support healing with issues such as respiratory disorders, coughs, headaches, arthritis, and more.

The safest way I use oregano essential oil is by inhaling either through a steam blend or through an aromatherapy inhaler. The reasoning behind inhalation being the safest option are the components that exist within oregano essential oil. The main chemical components are carvacrol and thymol; both are in the chemical family of phenols, which attribute to oregano essential oil being a skin and mucous membrane irritant.

As physically intimidating as oregano essential oil can seem, emotionally, this oil gives a comforting wellness wrap and provides a boost to balance the mind, leaving behind anxiety and stresses.

Love and Blessings,

Jodi
